Music Therapy Entrance Scholarship
MT - MME / MT - MME & Equivalency Only
Music Education and Music Therapy (MEMT) has available scholarship funds for graduate music therapy equivalency or Master’s students preparing for a career in music therapy. Alumni and friends of MEMT endow general scholarship funds.
Scholarships are based primarily on academic and experiential merit with concern for financial need. Some applicants may be considered if there are special circumstances that may have adversely affected their GPA. Such students should submit additional documentation from individuals who can verify the special circumstances.
The following students are eligible to compete for these scholarships:
°Newly admitted full time graduate music therapy students (MT-MME or MT-MME & EQ)
Graduate students may apply for a scholarship upon submission of the graduate application and all supporting admission materials to Music Education and Music Therapy. Applicants for this scholarship will only be considered upon full acceptance into the Music Therapy program.
Awards are made for the full academic year. Usually half of the award will be deducted from the fall semester fees and half from the spring semester fees. The Music Therapy Scholarship Committee determines all awards.
Scholarship application deadline is April 1 prior to the fall for which you plan to attend. This form is reviewed by Dr. Cindy Colwell and questions can be directed to ccolwell@ku.edu.
Applicants are sought from all qualified individuals regardless of race, age, religion, color, disability, veteran status, national origin, or ancestry.
By submitting this form, I understand that official transcripts will be used to review academic work and to determine academic eligibility. Note: If you are selected to receive a scholarship, your award is contingent upon full acceptance to a Music Therapy program within the School of Music graduate division and full time enrollment by the initial fall semester.
I hereby certify that the statements herein are true to the best of my knowledge and any awards received through the Music Therapy Entrance Scholarship Program will be used solely for expenses related to continued full-time enrollment in Music Therapy at the University of Kansas.
