Engineering Academic Integrity Hearing Panel - Faculty Volunteer Form

Purpose
The Engineering Academic Integrity Hearing Panel plays an integral role in the adjudication of formal student academic misconduct cases and ensures students are given the opportunity to have their cases heard by members of the KU Engineering community. The Panel is comprised of 3 faculty and 2 students. Representatives may serve on hearing panel throughout the year to determine student(s) responsibility for alleged violations of academic misconduct and confirm appropriate sanctions if necessary to provide a recommendation to the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. 

Qualifications
Current tenured/tenured-track faculty member, teaching & research faculty, or Professor of Practice in good standing. 

Duties
Serve for one academic year (there is no minimum number of panels but the goal is to allow each representative to participate as scheduling allows)
Review the current Hearing Process within the Engineering Rules & Regulations
Have available a two-hour block of time, during the regular business day (8AM-5PM), Monday-Friday
Maintain confidentiality in regard to all information discussed in hearings
 

check as many as your availability allows
This responsibility includes managing the hearing by following the script, discussing the case with hearing members, and providing a summary and recommendation to the Associate Dean.
