Residency Appeal

This form is used to submit an appeal to a residency application that has been denied. Students must submit the residency appeals form within 30 days of notification of the original denial. The appeal request is processed by the Office of the University Registrar and considered by the Residency Appeals Committee as well as any other records submitted to the University of Kansas. Following the residency appeal committee meeting, students will be notified if present at the meeting or sent a notification by email and mail.

Appeal Information

Please attach a two- to three-page letter to the Residency Appeals Committee discussing why you believe you meet the criteria to gain resident tuition classification. Additional documentation that was not previously provided in your residency application may also be provided.

Only PDF, JPEG, PNG, or Word document files can be attached. Video files cannot be accepted.

Hearing Registration

The Committee meets every 4th Wednesday of each month and are subject to change. After an appeal is submitted to the Office of the University Registrar, students will receive an email notification with details on how to attend the appeals meeting.
