Jarosewycz Scholarship for Ukrainian Language Application


The Jarosewycz Family Scholarship is awarded to REES affiliated students with strong interests in Ukrainian studies. KU students are eligible to receive up to $3,000 in tuition towards Ukrainian language classes. Any KU student is eligible. No previous knowledge of a foreign language is required. Incoming Freshmen will be given special priority. To receive the award, students must:

  • Enroll in UKRA 104 Elementary Ukrainian (Fall Semester) and UKRA 108 Elementary Ukrainian II (Spring Semester), or UKRA 204 Intermediate Ukrainian (Fall Semester) and UKRA 208 (Spring Semester).
  • Commit to enrolling in further Ukrainian classes (UKRA 204/208 or more advanced level classes) the year following the award period.
  • If you are an undergraduate student, declare a REES major or minor.
  • If you are a graduate student, be admitted for a REES MA or REES Graduate Certificate.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, but there are a limited number of scholarships available.
The sooner you apply, the better! Last day to apply: August 5, 2016.
