Jarosewycz Scholarship for Ukrainian Language Application

The Jarosewycz Family Scholarship is awarded to REES affiliated students with strong interests in Ukrainian studies. KU students are eligible to receive up to $3,000 in tuition towards Ukrainian language classes. Any KU student is eligible and all are encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to current REES majors and minors, as well as REES M.A. and REES graduate certificate students. No previous knowledge of a foreign language is required. Incoming Freshmen will be given special priority. To receive the award, students must:

  • Enroll in UKRA 104 Elementary Ukrainian (Fall Semester) and UKRA 108 Elementary Ukrainian II (Spring Semester), or UKRA 204 Intermediate Ukrainian (Fall Semester) and UKRA 208 (Spring Semester).
  • Commit to enrolling in further Ukrainian classes (UKRA 204/208 or more advanced level classes) the year following the award period.
